For Thursday, 9/19/13 game...
Chiefs vs Eagles - Chiefs
Chiefs 3-0? Well the coach and quarterback have a lot more to prove than anyone on the Eagles. We'll see...
As for Week 2, I went 9 for 14 which isn't too bad. And most of the games I was wrong about were close. I will try to remember to make my picks for Thursday and Monday games from now on.
Texans vs Ravens - Texans
Giants vs Panthers - Giants
Rams vs Cowboys - Cowboys
Buccaneers vs Patriots - Patriots
Chargers vs Titans - Chargers
Bills vs Jets - Bills
Jaguars vs Seahawks - Seahawks
Browns vs Vikings - Vikings
Packers vs Bengals - Packers
Lions vs Redskins - Redskins
Cardinals vs Saints - Saints
Falcons vs Dolphins - Falcons
Colts vs 49ers - 49ers
Bears vs Steelers - Steelers
Raiders vs Broncos - Broncos

Elyse's Week 2 picks
So I really hope I do a better job in my week 2 picks...week 1 was a fairly pathetic 7 out of 16 correct.
And I'm late as usual...missed Thursday altogether. But you know I was picking the Patriots although I would have expected a much better score.
So for the rest of the line up -
Panthers vs Bills - Bills
Vikings vs Bears - Bears
Redskins vs Packers - Packers
Dolphins vs Colts - Colts
Rams vs Falcons - Falcons
Saints vs Buccaneers - Saints
Jaguars vs Raiders - Raiders
Browns vs Ravens - Ravens
Cowboys vs Chiefs - Cowboys
Titans vs Texans - Texans
Chargers vs Eagles - Eagles
Lions vs Cardinals - Lions
Broncos vs Giants - Broncos
49ers vs Seahawks - 49ers
Seems as though Week 2 is a little bit of a setup to allow some of the stronger teams to get a 2-0 start to the season. The Texans vs Titans and Saints vs Buccaneers should be closest shoot outs when all is said and done. But what the heck do I know? Week 1 wasn't at all what I thought it would be so Week 2 could have some surprises as well.

Joopy's Week 1 pick
I disagree with only few of my blog partners picks to win in the first week.
1. The 49ers will struggle in the beginning but the Packers defense will fall in the second half. Niners winning fer sure.
2. Browns vs Dolphins... Dolphins winning off the energy of the Hurricanes indeed.

Elyse's Week 1 Picks
I'm running late with my post again...so I won't have much time to write this. I'll just keep it straight forward and list out my picks for this week.
Patriots vs. Bills - Patriots
Seahawks vs. Panthers - Seahawks
Dolphins vs. Browns - Browns
Bengals vs. Bears - Bengals
Vikings vs. Lions - Lions
Chiefs vs. Jaguars - Chiefs
Buccaneers vs. Jets - Buccaneers
Packers vs. 49ers - Packers
Giants vs. Cowboys - Giants
Raiders vs. Colts - Colts
Falcons vs. Saints - Falcons
Titans vs. Steelers - Steelers
Cardinals vs. Rams - Cardinals
Eagles vs. Redskins - Redskins
Texans vs. Chargers - Texans
My rationale behind my picks? I don't have much time for that but I just picked with my gut. I'm expecting an upset in the Packers vs. 49ers game and the rest of my picks I went with what I really think the strongest team is.
Will check back after week one is over.

Elyse's Thursday, 9/5/13 picks
Season Opener - Broncos vs. Ravens
My Pick - Broncos
Two Super Bowl winning quarterbacks...rematch from double overtime playoff game...recipe for an exciting season opener.
Why the Broncos? The Ravens have lost too much of the team they had that led to the win. They've lost key players on both sides of the game and there are too many question marks to pick them to win. Add to that by looking at how the Broncos have kept all of their power players and added Wes Welker to that equation. There is no reason Manning shouldn't have a solid performance in this game. So, I believe they have the edge here...maybe by a touchdown.

Fantasy Football picks
So we had our fantasy football draft last night. ESPN gave my picks a B grade...not too shabby. I didn't get everyone I wanted as other members of my league seem to be able to read my mind just as I'm about to hit the Draft Player button. Here is what I ended up with:
- Quarterback - Matt Ryan - There were higher rated QBs available, but I chose Matt. With Julio Jones, Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez and an average of around 28 points per game last season, Ryan is bound to throw for many yards and many touchdowns. With barely any interceptions until late in the season, he makes for a good fantasy pick.
- Running Backs - Alfred Morris, Chris Johnson, Fred Jackson and Pierre Thomas. Morris is certain to produce, Johnson will likely be consistent, Fred Jackson will be a solid back up and quite frankly, Thomas is likely to ride my bench until I find someone better.
- Wide Receivers - Roddy White, Torrey Smith, Anquan Boldin, Miles Austin and Kendall Wright. I had too pick up White. Jones wasn't available and I like getting the double points from having both the quarterback and the wide receiver when big plays hit. The rest of my guys will produce but won't be stars. And I could easily replace one with another without much change to my final score.
- Tight End - Antonio Gates - While he was closer to my third choice for TE, I think he will be a solid player and produce about 8 points per game.
- Kicker - David Akers - Ok so he wasn't my top choice either and he is one of the oldest kickers in the league. But that means consistency. You don't start out in 1997 and still play in 2013 without skill.
- Head Coach - Redskins coach - I will likely play the head coach game all season and just switch out head coaches depending on who's playing and who is available. But it's a decent start as I expect the Redskins to have a solid, and possibly division winning season this year.
The league I'm in picks defensive players instead of defenses. Since that is so rare, I don't see the need to break down those picks. I do expect that my defense will perform admirably and will likely help me pull out a win or two this season.
All that being said...I'm not holding my breath for landing at the top of my league. I was on a streak last year, was ahead by several wins. I proceeded to go on a seven week losing streak to barely make the playoffs and then promptly lost my game. Or at least I'm pretty sure that is how it went. I have tried to erase the tragedy of last year's fantasy performance from memory.
For the rest of you that will be watching games and adding up the points, I wish you the best of luck. Try your best to maintain your ability to be a fan and not just a slave to the fantasy points. And remember to leave some time for the wife and kids too! You want to make sure they are still around when the season is over. ;)

Welcome to Ladies Lovin Football!
Hello Everyone! My name is Elyse. I am half of the Ladies Lovin Football equation. For years now, my guy friends have come to me for my NFL game analysis to pick winners for their bets, select players for their fantasy teams, or to just have a good conversation about last week's games.
I've been watching NFL football since I was five years old. The biggest fan in my family was my grandmother. She was a die hard Giants fan. I am also a lifelong Giants fan...but don't expect that to color my analysis. There is no love in football. I made the mistake of picking up Eli as my fantasy quarterback this past season because I am a fan of him. But fan or not, he is inconsistent as hell and in no way makes for a good fantasy quarterback that you can count on.
So what can you expect from this blog? Well for starters...this is our first blog so I make no promises about how often we will post. But when we do post, you can expect to see general commentaries, pre and post game analysis, projections, suggestions for fantasy picks, and anything else we think people might want to read about. There may be guest posts and you will see the occasional words about other sports. We both enjoy soccer, NASCAR, Olympics, X Games, some baseball and tennis. Anything is fair game.
That's enough for a welcome. I hope you will enjoy what we have to share!
